RF microneedling
Microneedling with Radiofrequency or more commonly referred to as “RF Microneedling” combines the benefits of microneedling with those of radiofrequency (RF) energy to enhance skin texture and firmness by stimulating regeneration of collagen and elastin. The treatment is commonly used on the face and neck; however, it can be used elsewhere on the body such as the abdomen, arms and knees to improve the appearance of scars, skin texture and laxity.
During the microneedling part of the treatment, ultrafine needles create controlled injury to the skin at a consistent depth. This produces a series of tiny punctures on the skin's surface allowing the radio-frequency energy to reach deeper layers of the skin stimulating collagen and elastin production. We are proud to offer two cutting edge RF Microneedling technologies at Modern Dermatology – Lutronic’s Genius and Cynosure Potenza’s new “Fusion Tip,” which uniquely enhances the penetration of topicals into the skin by 67% for maximum results.
Most patients will see maximum benefit from RF Microneedling through a series of 2-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Each treatment should be planned when you have some downtime to recover as mild crusting, redness, and edema (swelling) are common for 1-5 days following. Until the skin returns to normal, strict sun avoidance is recommended. Click here to read more about the aftercare guidelines for this treatment.
