Microneedling

Microneedling encourages skin rejuvenation by creating intentional trauma to the skin with very fine needles. This injury to the skin signals the body to generate new collagen and skin tissue, resulting in smoother, firmer, more toned skin. 

Microneedling is mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores. It is most effective when done in a series of treatments. A numbing cream will be applied prior to the procedure to minimize any discomfort. After the treatment there will be some initial redness in the treatment area, which can last anywhere from 2-4 days. Some patients heal in as little as 24 hours.

Microneedlng can be done with or without the addition of Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP).

Platelet-Rich-Plasma-Therapy (PRP) – also known as “the vampire facial” promotes collagen production, regenerates tissue and tightens skin. Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. PRP can treat anything from fine lines and sun damage to deeper wrinkles and acne scarring.

The in-office procedure takes about 30 minutes and begins with a small blood draw (usually from the arm). The blood is then placed in a sterile tube that is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma (the clear fluid). This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP. Next the PRP is used on specific areas of the skin through via injection, microneedling, or applied after a laser procedure.

Delivering toxin, Hyaluronic Acid Filler and/or PRP with micro channel delivery is a fully customizable way to deliver the benefits of these drugs just under the dermis at a consistent depth and with little to no pain.

• Delivering toxin to the dermis this way (vs. into the muscle) has been proven to help temporarily shrink pore openings on the face.

• Delivering Hyaluronic Acid this way provides deep skin hydration to the treated areas, giving it improved firmness, elasticity and smoothness. Treatable areas: face, neck, chest and hands.

• Delivering PRP this way will channel the platelet-rich-plasma similar to the approach with traditional microneedling.
